Goodyear is a city in Maricopa County, Arizona, located about 17 miles west of downtown Phoenix. Originally inhabited by Akimel O’odham and Tohono O’odham peoples, the area was used for cattle ranching and agriculture in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The city experienced significant growth in the 1960s and 1970s, attracting new residents with its warm climate and proximity to Phoenix. Today, Goodyear is home to over 86,000 people and hosts large employers such as Amazon, Lockheed Martin, and Cancer Treatment Centers of America.
